STR-S5707 ANDOFF-LINE SWITCHING REGULATORSWITH BIPOLAR SWITCHING TRANSISTORCOLLECTOR1The STR-S5707 and STR-S5708 are specifically designed to meetthe requirement for increased integration and reliability in off-line quasi-resonant flyback converters with indirect feedback. Each deviceincorporates the primary control and proportional drive circuit with athird-generation high-voltage bipolar switching transistor.COMMON2FAULTBASE3Crucial system parameters such as maximum ON time and OFFtime are fixed during manufacture. Local control circuit decoupling andlayout are optimized within each device.SSINK4DRIVEOSC.FAULTLATCHROVER-CURRENTPROTECTION5Cycle-by-cycle current limiting, under-voltage lock-out with hyster-esis, over-voltage protection, and thermal shutdown protect thesedevices during all normal and overload conditions. Over-voltageprotection and thermal shutdown are latched after a short delay. Aprimary-side error amplifier with reference is included to facilitateregulation from an auxiliary or bias winding of the power transformer. Aversatile triple-level inhibit circuit includes the OFF time synchronizationrequired to establish quasi-resonant operation.
